A sharply dressed black-and-white
seabird with a huge, multicolored bill, the Atlantic Puffin is often referred
to as a sea parrot. The puffin spends six to eight months of the year on the
open sea. Under water they use their wings as powerful flippers to swim while
guiding themselves with their feet. Unlike the penguin, they are able to fly. In
flight, puffins flap their small wings frantically to stay in the air.
