Coast of Maine has created this cow manure compost that comes from Pineland Farms Natural Meats in Aroostook County Maine. Their beef herd is raised without the use of antibiotics or growth hormones! The composted manure is combined with aged peat humus, a unique carbon source that is rich in organic material, lignins and tannins. This results in a naturally light-weight and easy-to-use soil that is a must have for your next gardening project.

Looks good.

Not an expert on compost but this thing was black as heck and fine. No weird mulch, rock, or other materials like some other brands I tried. So I’m gonna say at least they are fully composting and not selling half composted things.

I didn’t notice anything with this bag but a recent order of three bags have large (maybe carpenter) ants. I am not sure if they are coming from the box or soil.

Wonderful compst

The Coast of Maine Schoodic Cow Manure Compost is wonderful. It's loose and loamy and there's no odor at all. It's easy to put down because it's not clumpy and wet like other composts. You can easily top dress the garden with it or add it to the bottom of the planting hole at planting time. It will feed you plants for an entire season without the use of chemical fertilizers. And it improves the soil.
